A classic/timeless piece that will never go out of style is the p coat. What’s nice about Ryan’s look is that it still has personality without being loud. The bright scarf is a nice accent to the otherwise monochromatic look.
STEP 1: P Coat
I like the idea of Ryan’s popped collar however the truth is that not everyone is capable of pulling off that look for various reasons.. So know that keeping the collar down is also an option.
STEP 2: Scarf
Ok so the scarf I choose isn’t as festive or bright as Ryan’s.. but my scarf choose has hutzpah and has an epic dragon on it!
STEP 3: Denim
Some of the best tailored/made jeans in the business.
STEP 4: Shoes
Check these bad boys out! They are completely legit.
The one and only Mike H. is Celebrating a birthday today.. so in honor of that we are having a “Super Swagger Monday !” Mike has a very classic, modern take on an old school Frank Sinatra sense of style. This autumn beach look is no exception. He has taken a pair of classy white beach pants and paired them with a fitted maroon crew neck sweater that makes this a very season appropriate look. Granted this look works best if you are coastal and live near the ocean.. lol
Step 1: Crew Neck Sweater
The slightly distressed nature of the collar gives this sweater more of a rugged feel. Even though this sweater is black.. it’s not too harsh or repelling especially when paired with the white beach pants. This is definitely a classic timeless option from Dior Homme.
– OR –
Try something a little different.. like this cobalt/turquoise v-neck cashmere sweater. Play with different colors! You’d be surprised what might look good on you. If you have a shorter neck or are concerned with wanting to look leaner.. a v-neck is a great option to work with. A v-neck will open up the neck line, visually elongate the neck and allow you to appear leaner.
Step 2: White Beach Pants
Unfortunately the selection for white beach pants is kind of low due to the fact that they are not really in season.. lol I did find this pair from Tommy Bahama which i’m 50/50 on.. due to their fit.. but nevertheless.. here is an option to look at.. lol
Step 3: Flip Flops
A leather sandal is a great way to finish off a casual look. It’s a step up from a typical beach sandal and much more appropriate for running errands/meeting your friends for brunch. Birkenstock’s in particular are known for their comfort level once you break them in. By breaking into them.. I mean the sole actually molds to your feet making them really comfortable. I can actually attest to this. It took a little while for me to break mine it just because I didn’t wear them everyday but they finally broke in and now are really comfortable to walk in.
Look for pieces that are classic and fit well; pieces that you will get a lot of use value for. Play with color! Life is too short to be dull or stuck in a rut. Experiment with different collar styles and see which ones are most flattering to your body type. Lastly find a great pair of leather sandals for running around in and only wear your plastic flip flops to the pool or beach..
