Casual Friday: Jake Gyllenhaal

I’m a major fan of the entire ensemble.. from head to toe.. I don’t have a single critique. Jake looks sharp, successful, masculine, modern and fully aware that he isn’t 18. I’m a huge fan of the fact that Jake isn’t wearing sneakers; I love that he’s wearing a “grown up” shoe. I’m not opposed to adults wearing athletic shoes there obviously is a time and place.. but even so certain styles of sneakers are not age appropriate post 25. The best way to look old is by dressing too young. Jake’s look is classic which means it never will go out of style.

Step 1: Oxford Button Down

This is a unique regal button down oxford with a mock collar from The Kooples. It’s in a classic light blue color and pairs well with dark denim or business slacks.

Step 2: The Shawl Collar Cardigan

This cardigan is made out of a sweat shirt type material.. so on top of looking upscale it’s pretty darn comfortable as well.

Step 3: Denim

Dark denim always is a winner:

A. It’s slimming

B. It’s sleek

C. You have options.. You can dress them up or down.

Step 4: Shoes

A classic pair of desert boots from Clarks. You can wear these shoes with dark denim or khakis. They even look good with shorts during the summer.
